Century Star

The nationally award-winning Century STAR staff investigates and reports the news of Century High School and the Bismarck community. These stories are published once a month in a 32-56 page newsmagazine that is distributed at Century, the Bismarck Public Library, Youthworks, several Starbuck's locations, Steep Me, Riverside Cafe and is now available online. To produce the newsmagazine, STAR staff members learn to use Creative Suites software (In-Design, Photo Shop, and Illustrator) and SLR cameras.

Individual subscriptions for the STAR newsmagazine can be ordered by dropping off a check for $30 (payable to the Century STAR) at the main office or mailing it to CHS 1000 E. Century Ave., Bismarck, ND 58503.

Our Mission Statement

The Century Literary Magazine is a forum for expression. Included is poetry, art, and photography but there is no specific criteria for submissions. Any views expressed by the artist are not the direct views of the school, administration, or literary magazine. Funded by grants, donations, and advertisements, this is a student-run First Amendment-supported publication.

Due to our purpose, we do not censor, nor do we exclude any subject matter that might be controversial. In such cases it is imperative that the piece be artfully done and the intent is not to offend.

The staff collects and edits submissions that will be laid out in a publication at the end of the school year. By submitting to the literary magazine you give full consent to edit pieces. The staff will strive to keep work authentic to the original artist.
