Practice:
Please try to attend as frequently as possible. I know you're extremely busy, but we can't succeed as a team if you choose not to attend. I can't help you if you don't attend the practices. We will practice every Thursday at CHS in room 208 at 3:40 - 4:30. Please make time to work with the team. We will be utilizing the computer labs at CHS to conduct your research. We will work together and share information.

Tournament Expectations:
Since the first meet is inSeptember in Fargo at the DoubleWood , you need to gather information on each resolution as quickly and efficiently as possible. Try to write at least one speech for each resolution.- You will be assigned to one of nine chambers. There are four resolutions that are debated in each chamber. You will either be in the affirmative or the negative for each resolution within your chamber.

New Team Members:
There is nothing wrong with simply observing the process that takes place at our first meet. Once you get comfortable with the format, it will be hard to not voice your opinion(s) on the resolutions within your chamber. Remember opinions aren't worth much without factual information to support your insight.

Writing Resolutions:
All team members should write at least one resolution for each meet. If you need help with this process, refer to your packet of information, ask your teammates, and/or ask me.

Eligibility:
The eligibility requirements that apply to sports also apply to Student Congress. Remember, at each meet you are representing CHS and if you can't do so in a professional manner you will lose your privilege to compete in future meets.

Chamber Procedures:
Be aware of the formal procedures that exist in the Chambers (Check Packet -you can bring your packet into the Chamber with you.)
