I have some information for the tennis parents from the BMTA: see below
Dear Tennis Parents, Hello! My name is Kevin Allan and I am the President of the Bismarck Mandan Tennis Association. I have three main reasons in writing to you today. First, I would like to make you aware of the BMTA if you aren't already. The BMTA was founded in 1972 by local tennis enthusiasts. This year marks our 40th year as a community tennis association. Our mission is to promote and support tennis in the Bismarck-Mandan communities. The BMTA hosts tennis related events throughout the year not just during the summer. Last year we had nearly 150 members. At this point our membership is only open to adults although there has been some consideration about amending the by-laws at our annual meeting to open membership up to youth. I am asking you to consider joining the BMTA to help support tennis in the Bismarck-Mandan community and become further connected to the game your children are passionate about. Second, to make you aware of some of the youth programming that is provided and how it may benefit your son or daughter. Here is what we have done in recent years or will be doing:
Youth Tennis Clinic put on by current U-Minnesota women's tennis coach Tennis Rules Clinic and Professional Tennis Registry seminars Youth Progressive Doubles League (Fall, Winter, Spring) Summer Youth Tennis League Junior Team Tennis (Summer) Tournaments Junior competition training clinic (hosted by USTA Northern rep) Tournament grants for tournaments outside the Bismarck-Mandan area Funding to attend tennis events in the local region So while youth can't be members of the BMTA, there are plenty of opportunities to develop as a player, learn more about the game, and take in tennis related events. Preference for funding is given to children of current BMTA members. Finally, the BMTA is a volunteer run organization. We are always looking for volunteers to help out with tournaments, special events, socials, etc. If you would like to be included on a volunteer list please indicate below. Again, I ask that you please consider joining the BMTA. If you have any questions about the BMTA or anything we do related to youth tennis feel free to contact me at 667-0844 or at kallan@umary.edu. _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ __________________________________________________________________________________________________ Name(s) __________________________________________________________________________________________________ Address City State Zip __________________________________________________________________________________________________ Email Address Home phone Cell Phone
