Kevin Ziegler
Head Varsity Coach

Kevin Ziegler - 9th Season

Kevin Ziegler returns for his ninth year as the head coach of Bismarck Century Softball. For the first 2 years he coached the Bismarck Sparks, a team made up of athletes from the Bismarck area. Since then, the Sparks have divided into the three high schools in town and this is his seventh year as head coach of the Century High Patriots. Previously, he spent six years as an assistant baseball coach and eleven years as an assistant girls basketball coach with the Patriots. Before this, he has been at Columbus, Towner and Wahpeton, ND coaching track, football and basketball and teaching science. He has taught chemistry at Century High School for the past 13 years. Assistant Varsity Coach

Steve Chuppe - 3rd Season

Coach Chuppe brings baseball and fastpitch coaching experience to his third year as CHS assistant varsity coach. From 2003-10, his Babe Ruth and Cal Ripken baseball teams won 4 state titles and 3 2nd place finishes. In 2004, the 13-year-old Babe Ruth team won the Midwest Plains Regional title and and finished third place in the Babe Ruth World Series.

He started coaching fastpitch in 2011. From 2011-2014, his summer teams won three state titles, with his 2014 team finishing third in the 16U Nationals tournament.
Coach Chuppe is also a chiropractor who works with emphasis on sports injuries. Steve and his wife, Deb, have four children, Sarah, Alexis, Matt, and Maya.

Head JV Coach

Darby Krivoruchka - 2nd Season

Coach Darby returns for her second year on the Patriot coaching staff. She was one of the original Sparks players who has been through the entire fastpitch program since it's started in Bismarck in 2007. She started out with the Bismarck Sparks, then played her senior year as a Century Patriot after the program split. She helped lead the Patriots to a state runner-up finish. She went on to attend the University of Jamestown, where she played four years of college softball and graduated in 2016 with a bachelor's degree in Biochemistry.

She has been a fastpitch and slowpitch umpire since 2010. She works with all ages, from girls fastpitch to women's, men's, and coed slowpitch. She has umpired in one national slowpitch tournament, and has helped out with several slowpitch and fastpitch tournaments around the state.
