Season Information

  • Congrats to the CHS cheerleaders on their 2nd place finish in the team competition at the Winter State Cheer Competition!!! Century's stunt group took 2nd place as well. Bryanna Hanson took 3rd and Laney Beiswenger took 4th in the All Around Cheer Challenge. Danielle Weaver and Amber Parker were awarded the Senior award as well. CHS cheerleaders also recieved the Team Scholar Award in hockey and boys and girls basketball. Congrats ladies on all your achievements and your hard work!



  • CHEER TRYOUTS!!
    Tryouts for next year's cheer teams will be held on April 14-17th at CHS in the atrium. Tryout times will be from 3:45-5:30. Cheerleaders wanting to tryout need to attend an info meeting at CHS on Tuesday April 8th at 3:30 in the PE classroom or at Horizon on Wednesday April 9th in room T2 at 3:20.

  • Congrats to the CHS cheerleaders on their many accomplishments at NCA cheer camp 2013.Their awards are 1st place team- Performance Competition, Bid to Nationals, Spirit Stick winner and the Team Time award from Spoftlips. They also won two S.P.O.T awards for safe stunting. The team also won a technical excellence award for tumbling. Individual awards are as follows: All American Nominees: Laney Beiswenger, Suzie Cox, Sierra Link, Kiley Neuman, Danielle Weaver,Gracynn Young, Amber Parker and Kendra Glatt.

  • At the NDCCA State Winter Cheer Competition the CHS cheerleaders placed fourth in the team competition. Madison Brown and Kaitlyn Maitland received Senior Awards and the team earned the Team Scholar Award. Congrats ladies on all your achievements and your hard work!

    Tammy Duursma
    Tammy Duursma

    Tammy Duursma is originally from Bismarck, ND. She is going on her 6th year coaching at CHS, 10 years coaching overall. She has 9 years of cheer experience ranging from middle school thru college. She is a 3 time All-American Cheerleader and a two time jump off winner as well as a 4 time team winner in the ND State High School competitions. She was an assistant coach of the NDSU Cheer Team for 2 years, previously coached a cheerleading team and dance teams in Las Vegas, Nevada, was a camp instructor for the NCA/NDA organization for 4 years, was an assistant coach of the ND All-Star Team for two years and co-coach of the ND cheer team. She is currently on the NDCCA board where she is vice president and helped create the partner stunt and All Around Cheer Challenge divisions. She is AACCA Spirit Safety Certified. She has stayed actively involved in cheer via judging, choreographing cheer routines and has attended UCA/UDA College Nationals in Orlando, Florida. Tammy currently co-coaches cheerleading at Horizon and she teaches Physical Eduation in the BPS system.

    Rachael
    Rachael Wiegel, D.C. is originally from Bismarck, ND. She was involved in cheerleading through middle school and dance from middle school through college. She was a part of a very decorated high school dance team and has competed in four years of National Dance Competitions on Orlando, FL. She earned a French degree from North Dakota State University in Fargo, ND before attending Northwestern Health Sciences in Bloomington, MN where she earned her doctorate degree for chiropractic and acupuncture certification.

    Dr. Rachael just recently relocated back to Bismarck to open Bis-Man Chiropractic & Acupuncture with her husband. She co-coached Horizon Cheer team in 2013 and now is very excited to be a part of the CHS family!
